According to the Encyclopedia Virginia:
Dressed in a wig and a royal blue suit, John Baylor III—then about seventeen years old—evokes a haughty attitude in this early eighteenth-century portrait made in England. Like many wealthy Virginia planters' sons, Baylor was educated in England, entering Putney Grammar School, near London, possibly by the age of twelve.
