Andrew Barclay was a New Netherland Descendant 1674-1776.

Andrew Barclay was a son of Rev. Thomas Barclay, first rector of St. Peter's Church in Albany, New York. His mother is identified as Anna Dorothea Drauyer, daughter of Captain Andries Drauyer (a Danish member of the Dutch navy) and Gertrud van Schaick. Andrew was born in October 1719.[1]

Andrew Barclay was one of the founders of Saint Andrew’s Society in 1756, and was successively Vice-President from 1758-1759, and President from 1759-1761. He married Helena Roosevelt on 14 June 1737,[2] and the couple had eleven children.

Andrew Barclay died on 19 June 1775. His death notice described him as "an eminent merchant and brother of the Rev. Dr. Barclay, late Rector of this Parish, a most worthy and exemplary citizen, universally beloved by all who knew him."[3]
