This community was greatly saddened last Saturday morning when word was received here Chas. H. Nietert, had been killed by lightning at his home in Floweree, Montana, the night previous.
The telegram just carried the bare statement of his death and the manner and as yet the relatives have not learned the full particulars. As soon as the word was received here Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Nietert commenced preparation to go on the long western trip. They left Cedar Rapids, Saturday at midnight and arrived in time for the funeral, which occurred Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Nietert accompanied by Miss Katherine Hart on the trip.
Chas. Nietert was formerly connected with the Exchange State Bank at this place for a number of years. In fact here is where he lived most of life. In 1910 he left here for Floweree Montanta, where he has been engaged in farming.
The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved relatives.
