Mrs. Ethel Stansfield, wife of Dr. Alfred Stansfield, retired professor of Metallurgy at McGill University died at her home, 3182 Westmount boulevard yesterday. Mrs. Stansfield was in her 65th year. Born in Ireland she came to Montreal in 1915 after spending some time in California. Mrs. Stansfield shared her husbands interest in Metallurgy, and was one of the prime movers of the women's section of the Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter, Miss Ellen Stansfield, and nine brothers and sisters. They are Mrs. Maria Armfield, Mrs. Matilda Holdcroft, Miss Florence Grubb and Miss Olive Grubb, all of California; Mrs. Edith Stansfield, England; Richard Grubb, Ireland; Frederick Grubb, New York; and George and Reginald Grubb, of Montreal. The Funeral will be held privately on Saturday Morning.
