Patrick Louis Cedric Grubb was born on 26 April 1936.[1] He is the son of Captain Cedric Alexander Grubb and Ailsa Marjorie Campbell.[2] He married Margaret Frances Robinson, daughter of Walter James Lynn Robinson, on 14 June 1969.[1]
He was educated at Michaelhouse School, Balgowan, Natal, South AfricaG.1 He graduated from Cape Town University, Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa, with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)[1] He graduated from University of St Andrews, St Andrews, Fife, Scotland, with a Doctor of Philopsophy (Ph.D.)[1] He was a geologist and research scientist.[1] He lived at 209 Second Street Ext, Avondale, Harare, Zimbabwe.[1]
