Narrative

Katherine Coykendall Christensen was born May 7, 1925 in Cupertino, California to Ken and Katherine Coykendall. Katherine died peacefully in her sleep April 2, 2011 at her home in Scotts Valley.

Katherine loved animals, especially dogs. Her last dog, Sally, was with her for over 17 years. She also loved butterflies, working in her rose garden and watching and feeding squirrels. Katherine was a wonderful cook and everyone especially loved her orange rolls.

Katherine is survived by her husband of 66 years, Claire Eugene Christensen. Katherine met her husband Claire [a WWII soldier] at a dance while attending San Jose State University. They married in Texas, just before her husband was sent to the pacific campaign.

Katherine is also survived by her sister Elizabeth Adair of Aptos, and many nephews and nieces.

Katherine was preceded in death by her daughter, Claire Diane Christensen and her sister, Adele Allbright.

At Katherine's request no services will be held.
