Reverend Philip Herbert Watkins Grubb was born on 19 August 1912.1 He is the son of Lt.-Col. Herbert Watkins Grubb and Eva Noel Mears.2 He married Audrey Gwendoline Young, daughter of Brig.-Gen. Sir Julian Mayne Young, on 10 October 1942.[1]
He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, EnglandG.[1] He graduated from St Peter's College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1935 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)[1] He was Curate of St Mary's between 1936 and 1943 at Portsea Island, Hampshire, England.[1] He graduated from St Peter's College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1938 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)[1] He was Rector of Bedhampton between 1943 and 1953 at Hampshire, England.[1] He was Rector of Shillingstone, Dorset and Chaplain of Crofthouse School between 1953 and 1965 at England.[1] He was Rector of Barford St Martin and Baverstock between 1965 and 1970 at Wiltshire, England.[1] He was Director of Samaritans of Salisbury and District between 1970 and 1974 at Wiltshire, England.[1] He held the office of Custos of St John's Hospital between 1970 and 1974.[1] He was Assistant Priest of Milford-on-Sea and Chaplain of Hordle House School at Hampshire, England.[1] He lived at 33 Rockcliffe Way, Milford-on-Sea, Lymington, Hampshire, England.[1]
