Frank was born in 1877. He was the son of James Work and Arbela Work.

He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1908.

He was Superintendent of the Indiana, Pennsylvania schools from 1908 until 1921.

He was a member of the faculty at Muskingum College.

Dr. Ernest Work served as educational advisor to Emperor Haile Selassie in the 1930's. [1]

He married Edith Dodds (1879–1966).

He passed away in 1957. Burial: Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum, Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, USA. [2]

Indiana Educator Dies In His Home

INDIANA, Pa., Oct. 27 -- Dr. Frank E. Work, 80, an educdator who wrote the first draft of Ethiopi'as constitution, died yesterday at his home.

Dr. Work spent a number of years in Ethiopia both before and after World War II. While there he helped establish that nation's school system.

Prior to his Ethiopian work, Dr. Work was superintendent of Indiana public schools for 14 years. He also taught history at Muskingum College. He retired in 1946.

Survivng is his widow. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at Indiana.
