Richard de Cruce Grubb was born on 5 July 1948.[1] He is the son of Patrick de Cruce Grubb and Vivian Anne Woodhouse.[2]
He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, EnglandG.[1] He gained the rank of member of the Queen's University Air Squadron in 1968 in the Royal Airforce Reserve.[1] He graduated from Queen's University, Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland, in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)[1] He gained the rank of officer in the Honourable Artillery Company.[1] He was with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Company.[1] He was registered as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (A.C.A.) in 1975.[1] He lived at 36 Balcome Street, Marylebone, London, England.[1]
