Named as a child of both Laura and William Finney Zeliff in the 1900 and 1910 US PA census records for Washingtonville Borough, Montour county, PA. His age is noted as 1 year (last birthday), but noting that he was born Nov. 1898. In the 1910 census "Courson's" age is noted as 12 years, and he lists his occupation as a saddler in his "father's shop".

According to a letter written by his sister Clare many years later, circa early 1960s, (in regards to documenting her family history), she noted that Clark earned a PHD from Penn State University. SS records on Clark: #191-32-7937 confirm a birth and death date, and note that he died in State College, PA, where Penn State University is located.

September, 1958

Dr. C. Courson Zeliff was appointed Associ-
ate Professor of Zoology. For the last 22 years
Dr. Zeliff has been on the faculty at The Penn-
sylvania State University during which time he
taught Zoology. Prior to that time he had taught
at the Alabama Polytechnic Institute, Davidson
College, Toledo University, and the University of
Detroit. After being graduated from Blooms-
burg State Teachers College, Dr. Zeliff went to
Lafayette where he received his A.B. degree in
Biology. He received his M.S. degree in Botany
from the University of Pennsylvania. Cornell
University conferred the Ph.D. degree in Zoology
on Dr. Zeliff.

Dr. Clark C. Zeliff ’18

Clark Corson Zeliff, State College,
died at his home at 1 a. m. Friday,
May 27. He was bora November 17,
1897, in Washingtonville, the son of
the late William and Laura Corson
Zeliff.

He was a retired professor at Penn-
sylvania State University, a veteran
of World War I, a member of the
American Association of University
Professors, and the American Society
Parasitologists. He was a member
of 'the Presbyterian Church in State
College. He attended Bloomsburg
State College and received his BA
degree from Lafayette College, his
Master degree 'at the University of
Pennsylvania, and his PH degree
from Cornell University.
