Narrative
Elijah Ireland Work was a member of the Mahoning U.P. Church for 54 years; leader of the music 40 years; served as Deacon and Ruling Elder in that congregation at the time of his death. He was an esteemed friend of the young, and a very busy Sabbath-school worker; one of the first in every Christian enterprise, and a kind neighbor. His son-in-law, James Dodds, was a carpenter in the East End of Pittsburgh, Pa. and was born May 1835. He served two enlistments in the Civil War. John Cree Telford, a minster, living here in 1850.
